MCTSSA Conducts Change of Command Ceremony

MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON, Calif.– Col. Craig M. Clarkson relinquished command of the Marine Corps Tactical Systems Support Activity (MCTSSA) to Col. Christopher A. Stephenson during a change of command ceremony held today, June 8.

The ceremony marked the conclusion of Col. Clarkson’s successful tenure, during which he led the organization that provides global technical support for Command, Control, Computer, Communications, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance, and Targeting (C5ISRT) systems; and conducts research and development, engineering, testing and evaluation, and supports experimentation for C5ISRT systems and littoral platforms to make the Fleet Marine Force more capable.

"Having the opportunity to serve with the team of high performing and committed professionals at MCTSSA has been an honor," said Col. Clarkson. "Every day, this team has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to enabling our warfighters with the technical dominance they need to succeed."

MCTSSA is championing key modernization efforts designed to enhance the operational capabilities of the Fleet Marine Force. By focusing efforts on critical initiatives like Project Dynamis, the MAGTF C2 Prototype (MCP), and emerging technologies to include Artificial Intelligence and autonomous systems, MCTSSA has taken significant strides in ensuring Marines remain connected, agile, and lethal in any contested environment.

Col. Christopher A. Stephenson assumes command of MCTSSA arriving from Selfridge, MI, where he most recently served as the Product Manager Vehicle Systems for the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle Program. “I look forward to contributing to a high-performing team that is widely respected for its excellence” Stephenson said. MCTSSA, the first Marine Corps Science and Technology Reinvention Laboratory (STRL), provides technical support to the Marine Corps and joint service partners, ensuring that command and control systems are thoroughly tested and ready for deployment in any operational environment.
