Maj Camacho was raised in Vancouver, Washington. He attended Linfield College where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Finance. He was commissioned as an Officer in 2011. Upon completion of The Basic School and Logistics Officer’s Course in 2012, he reported to 3d Battalion, 3d Marines (V33).
As a Logistics Officer with V33 from 2012-2015, Maj Camacho served in multiple billets within the Logistics Section and deployed twice in support of the Unit Deployment Program–Hawaii as he coordinated a full spectrum of combat service support operations.
In August 2015, Maj Camacho executed orders to Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC), Program Manager for Training Systems (PM TRASYS) in Orlando, FL. He served as Project Officer for three ACAT IV(M) programs: the Combat Convoy Simulator (CCS), the Combat Vehicle Training System (CVTS), and the Marine Air-Ground Task Force Tactical Warfare Simulation (MTWS). Establishing the CCS Modification Program, he led the program from acquisition program designation through contract award of a $39M production contract. He simultaneously managed MTWS and oversaw a $27M software development and support contract. He also led the CVTS program as it executed operations and sustainment in support of the 200+ systems across the USMC.
In 2018, Maj Camacho attended the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) where he earned a Master of Science - Management and the NPS Cost Estimating and Analysis Certificate.
Maj Camacho returned to MCSC in 2020. He served as Project Officer and Cost Analyst within the Product Manager, Training Systems Sustainment and Support Services (TS4). He led two cross-functional Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) in the successful award of the $249M Equipment Related Services – Systems (ERS-S) and $238M Electronics and Communication Services (ECS) Multiple Award Task Order Contracts.
In April 2021, he transitioned to the Force-on-Force Training Systems (FoFTS) program where he served as Team Lead. Maj Camacho directed various efforts including negotiation, award, and management of a $249M production contract as well as the planning and award of various Other Transaction Authority (OTA) agreements.
In December 2022, Maj Camacho was competitively selected as an MOS 8061 Acquisition Officer MOS 8061 and assigned to the Program Executive Officer – Land Systems, Program Management Light Tactical Vehicles. As part of the ACAT IC Joint Program Office Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV), Maj Camacho served as Vehicle Systems Team Lead, directly overseeing Marine Corps JLTV procurement, production, fielding, and lifecycle sustainment and managing an average annual budget of $400M.
In February 2025, as part of the Marine Corps Acquisition Screening Board (MCASB) FY25-01, Maj Camacho was competitively selected as Product Manager, Recruiting Applications and Systems, Manpower IT Systems Modernization. In this Critical Acquisition Position, Maj Camacho lead the high-priority modernization and lifecycle management of all Marine Corps Recruiting IT software systems and infrastructure.
In July 2026, Maj Camacho was selected to his current billet as Executive Officer, Marine Corps Tactical Systems Support Activity (MCTSSA).
Maj Camacho is a graduate of Command and Staff College, Expeditionary Warfare School, the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School. He also completed the UVA Darden Insight into Industry Management Course and Google Project Management Certificate. He has also earned certifications in ASQ Six Sigma Green Belt (ASQ SSGB), DAWIA Program Management – Advanced and received his Acquisition Professional Membership in 2022.
Maj Camacho’s personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with one gold star in lieu of second award, and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement medal with one gold star in lieu of second award.
